Description of red rose

The continuous flowering of the hybrid gives a smart, attractive appearance to the bush, which does not lose its attractiveness during short rains and does not fade in the sun.

Red Piano Red Piano is a round rose, reaching a height of 100-120 cm, a width of 60 cm to 1 m, with dark green leaves with a shiny surface that densely cover the shoots of the bush.

Landing

By choosing the right place to grow the Piano rose, you can achieve long and abundant flowering. There should be enough sunlight for the growth and development of the bushes. A shaded and cold place is not suitable for roses.

Additional information! Choose a sunny place with some partial shade and no drafts.

Roses love fertile soil, so before planting, the soil is fertilized with humus or compost. The holes are made wide (100 cm) so that the root system of the bush is freely located and well rooted in it, the depth is 50 cm. A drainage layer is placed on the bottom of the hole, which is sprinkled with sand.

Before planting, the selected seedlings are placed in water for several hours (you can use a plant growth stimulator).

The seedling is placed in a hole 10 cm below the plant’s neck, the roots are straightened and gradually covered with fertile soil. It is watered generously from above and, if necessary, sprinkled with mulch.

Care

Water the Piano rose as needed, so that the soil is always slightly damp. Hybrid tea roses should not be overwatered, as excess moisture will cause their roots to rot.

For long-term flowering, the rose needs to be fed periodically. This variety is especially sensitive to a lack of nutrients.
Fertilizers are applied once every two weeks to moist soil. In the spring, nitrogen fertilizers are applied to develop green mass, in the summer – phosphorus for abundant flowering, in September – foliar feeding with potassium sulfate and root phosphorus composition. Nitrogen cannot be applied during this period. The plant will begin to produce new shoots that will not have time to get stronger by winter and will freeze.

Please note! Rose Piano should not be overfed, if there is an excess of nutrients it turns yellow and sheds its leaves.

Disease prevention

Rose is almost not affected by diseases, but for plant prevention in cold and rainy weather, you can spray the plant with a solution of copper sulfate, Fundazol or Oxyhom. This will help protect it from powdery mildew and black spot.

Formative pruning

With proper pruning of branches, you can get a neat, rounded bush. In the spring, after removing the cover, the first pruning is carried out. All shoots that stand out from the general shape of the bush are cut off. Old, damaged branches are cut out. Young, healthy shoots are cut by a third to give the bush the desired shape.

In summer, faded inflorescences are removed to stimulate flowering on new shoots. Wild shoots are cut out at the base of the bush.

In autumn, the branches are shortened and immature, weak, and broken shoots are removed.

Reproduction

The Piano rose is propagated by grafting onto a rosehip or dividing the bush. The most effective way to propagate roses is by rooting cuttings. These methods preserve the maternal characteristics. When propagated by cuttings, seedlings rarely retain the properties of the maternal bush.

Preparing for winter

Rose Red Piano is quite frost-resistant, but in severe frosts it will not be able to survive the winter without shelter. When the first frosts occur, the base of the bush is sprinkled with sawdust, humus, dry soil to a height of 40 cm. Cover it with pine branches or straw on top. Film cannot be used for shelter, the bush will begin to rot under it.

A lush rose bush goes well with any flowers and shrubs, looks good when grown alone and in group plantings, in flower beds and along garden paths. Bright flowers are suitable for cutting.
