Rosa Kordana potted: care

This rose requires special handling, so it is necessary to provide it with proper care. Immediately after the purchase, you can notice that the flower does not feel too good: being weakened, the rosette can even shed its leaves. If you plan to grow a rose at home, after buying or receiving a plant as a gift, the plant should be transplanted into a slightly larger pot (in a container 5-7 cm higher than the original in height and 2-4 cm in diameter), into a new, well-fertilized soil .

In spring and summer, the plant needs regular feeding, while the flowers need to be cut. In the future, when transplanting, you should choose a container a few centimeters higher than the previous one.

However, if you immediately begin to properly care for her, after a few weeks she will adapt to new conditions and fully recover. When choosing a place for a plant, you need to know that it should be well lit, but at the same time, direct sunlight should not fall on the rose. It is best to place it near the southern windows, but when the peak of solar activity comes, move it to the shade, otherwise sunburn cannot be avoided.

Temperature

This rose is comfortable to grow at a temperature of 15 to 20 ° C (but not higher than 22 degrees). In winter, when the rose has a period of deep dormancy, the optimum temperature will be 5-8 ° C.

It is also important to ensure the flow of fresh air by ventilating the room. In the room where they are located, there should be good air circulation. But do not put a rose in a draft – this can seriously harm her. In summer, the plant can be kept in a pot even on the balcony.

Watering

Watering the flower requires warm settled water. Water abundantly, but not often, allowing the soil to dry out. Kordana loves moisture, so you need to ensure that the earth does not dry out.

Watering the plant

But it is not recommended to fill the plant – the roots can rot. Excess water in the pan is also not needed. It is best to water the plant in a pot and drain excess water from it after 15 minutes.

top dressing

After the purchase, do not fertilize for three months so that there is no excess salt. Usually top dressing is required in spring and summer. In spring, nitrogen fertilizers are most suitable, in summer – potassium-phosphorus fertilizers. Top dressing is applied two or three times during the growing season, but in such a way that the procedure does not coincide with the period of bud formation and flowering. A flower fed at this time will give only an abundant green mass and will not please with flowering.

Bloom

Rose Cordana blooms from May to October. Timing may vary, as the duration of flowering is highly dependent on when it bloomed. It can bloom even in winter, but for this it is necessary to create all the conditions: humidity, temperature, light, additional fertilizers.

Blooming roses

The rose does not need special conditions, except for the observance of the general rules for the maintenance of this variety. But it should be remembered that in the fall, after flowering, it is necessary to cut off all flowers and inflorescences.

Note! If the rose does not bloom for a long time, it is likely that it is not properly cared for. It should be remembered that for a long and lush flowering, this flower needs a bright place and good air circulation. For greater splendor of flowers, it is necessary to spray them with warm water once a week.

pruning

It is necessary to prune the Cordana rose several times a year. In the spring after the purchase of the plant, diseased, damaged or too long roots should be cut. In summer, wilted flowers are removed. In autumn, all flowers and inflorescences are cut from the plant. This will prepare the plant for winter and future flowering next year.

reproduction

Rose Cordana is difficult to propagate. The rose is propagated by cuttings. This procedure should be carried out from May to August.

Diseases and pests

Improper care can lead to illness. Too much water can cause root rot. Spraying the foliage with cold water causes powdery mildew. Often the Cordana rose is affected by the spider mite. Its appearance may be due to poor flower conditions. Another dangerous pest of Rose Cordana is aphids that feed on plant sap.

There are many types of Kordana roses, each of which has certain characteristics.
