How to germinate seeds
How long does it take for the seeds to germinate? The time it takes for seeds to germinate at home depends both on the type of plant and on specific conditions, such as climate or humidity. Some seeds germinate in as little as 24 hours, while others may take up to 15 days or more.
Higher and lower temperatures can also affect germination. And then there are the seeds that require pre-treatment before they germinate.
The seed germination process can take up to two weeks, and in order not to wait for the seeds to germinate after this period, the process can be accelerated in a few days. There are various ways to germinate seeds.
How to germinate seeds in water
Soaking seeds in a container with water is the easiest way to germinate them. Leave them there for several hours at room temperature. The seeds will absorb water and the embryo will break through faster.

Important! It is not worth keeping them in water for too long, because there is a risk that the seeds will germinate in the glass, and in this case they will rot.
How to use chamomile to germinate seeds
It may happen that the embryo is unable to break the seed shell and develops inside. The sprout in this case is destined to die if you do not try to free it. They use the properties of chamomile for seedlings. To do this, you need to prepare an infusion from a bag of chamomile and a glass of water.

Chamomile is very useful when sowing, as it serves to disinfect seeds and soften their outer skin, thereby facilitating the exit of the sprout.
To soften the seed coat, it is recommended to prepare an infusion based on chamomile. Seeds are soaked in chamomile tea for 24-36 hours. At the same time, the seeds will germinate faster, more evenly and more energetically.
How to sow seeds on a paper towel
You can easily germinate some seeds without soil using a paper towel. With the help of a transparent plastic box, you can create the right environment for seed germination.

The box should have a lid. The holes in it are designed for air circulation, to maintain optimal humidity and temperature inside.
Additional information! This system is great for varieties that require ripening in heat, such as peppers, tomatoes, and that will allow you to plant ready-made seedlings in the garden,
A paper towel is used to cover the bottom of a transparent box. Prudently do not use too thick and durable paper towels. Thin roots penetrate the texture of the paper and get tangled, which will make it difficult to transplant.

In order not to spoil the roots, which is very important at this stage, it is better to cut out a piece of paper and transplant it with a seedling into the soil. The paper towel is biodegradable, and will disappear after a short time as an organic substance.
The towel must be moistened with water before “sowing”. There should be a little water, but enough to soak all the paper. It is better to use colorless absorbent paper, without drawings and paint.
Between the seeds, it is necessary to leave enough space for the roots to exit for future growth. If the seeds are planted too close, they will be difficult to transplant, because the roots will get tangled, and moving can cause damage.
The box can be stored in a warm place near a heat source. Rapid germination is usually achieved at a temperature of about 28-30 degrees, ambient lighting will be sufficient for germination. Later, when the sprouts appear and the leaves develop, they are transplanted into the ground, giving the seedlings the right lighting.
Condensation on the lid of the box indicates the correct presence of water in the germinator. If the condensation effect decreases, you can understand that the towel is drying out.
Pay attention! If the paper towel is dry, the seeds are unlikely to germinate. They usually require constant hydration. Constantly check paper towels, if they are dry, sprinkle them with water.
If the paper is too wet, the seeds will absorb a lot of water and will not germinate, but will rot.
You can germinate seeds by wrapping them in wet paper towels and putting them in plastic bags, creating a greenhouse effect. This method is a great option if you have limited space. The use of plastic bags and paper towels for germination takes up very little space, and they can be placed almost anywhere.
Germination is faster, and you can halve the germination time, prepare the seeds overnight. This germination method is probably the easiest way to speed up germination time. In order for this to work, you need to constantly moisten the seeds that are used for planting.
Picking sprouted seeds
After germination, as soon as the plants release the first two leaves, they are transplanted into containers filled with fine seeded soil, with a good peat content.

Plants are planted in the open ground only when the stem is more developed.
What kinds of seeds will germinate using this method?
In some crops, seeds naturally germinate faster than in others. Such as cabbage will not benefit from a short germination time, because they have different conditions for germination.
Possible options for germination:
- pepper;
- cucumbers;
- eggplants;
- tomatoes;
- zucchini;
- beans;
- peas;
- beans.
The time required for seed germination will be different for each species. For example, pea seeds naturally germinate faster than pepper. Using this method for plants such as eggplants, tomatoes and peppers will facilitate seed germination.
Methods using paper towels help to significantly accelerate the germination of seeds, allowing them to be planted in the final place, knowing that the sprouts will grow well.
