Features of fireplaces
There is a wide selection of fireplaces on the market. Modern models are extremely effective, and at the same time perform their main function. They fit almost all interiors, creating interesting compositions.
However, choosing the right fireplace is not easy. The main thing when choosing a fireplace is to adapt it to individual requirements. You should contact specialists who will help you choose a suitable device.
Additional Information! At the initial stage of arrangement and even at the initial stage of designing a house or apartment, heating with fireplaces should be taken into account, since they require the installation of pipes to remove heat and exhaust gases.
In small rooms, to avoid feeling overloaded, you should not choose devices that are too large. A small space is too small for heat to spread, and the room can feel stuffy as a result.
A wood-burning fireplace has some disadvantages – storing firewood outside and then moving it into the living room. It is necessary to clean the area around the fireplace frequently. Another disadvantage is that you have to constantly monitor the fire so that sparks do not lead to a fire.

It is worth remembering that the fireplace should not be placed close to wooden elements. It should also be taken into account that heating gases are formed in the combustion chamber. A so-called chimney draft is required, which removes gases to the outside.
What other types of fireplaces are there?
In addition to traditional ones, the market offers electric and ecological types of fireplaces that are ideal for your home. Each of them has its own pros and cons. Fireplaces that can be found in a wide range of stores.
Electric fireplace
An electric fireplace is a popular alternative to traditional fireplaces and biofireplaces. They are chosen primarily because of their appearance. They can be safely used in any room; they are a wonderful addition to the interior of any home. Control is usually carried out using a remote control, but electric fireplaces often have an additional control panel on the surface of the screen.

They do not require combustion air supply or connection to the chimney. The fireplace looks very natural and is almost indistinguishable from a traditional one. An accurate imitation of fire in electric fireplaces looks like a real one, thanks to the three-dimensional effect of the flame, as well as smoke and glowing logs or briquettes (your choice). :
- modern, interesting interior design;
- simple installation without additional installations;
- there is no need to light and maintain a fire;
- work with remote control;
- Many models available allow you to choose the perfect model.
Modern electric fireplaces are energy-saving, which is important. They can also be equipped with a heating function. They are easy to install and run – just plug into a standard electrical outlet.
The obvious advantage of this solution is convenience: there is no need to light the fireplace, prepare firewood or put logs on the fire. The glass and fireplace do not get dirty during use.
Another advantage is safety – you cannot get burned or set fire to anything with virtual fire. Since it does not require a chimney, it can be installed almost anywhere.
Only when using an electric fireplace should you remember to regularly replenish the water in a special container, which is needed to produce fog.
The operation of the electric fireplace can be controlled manually or remotely using a remote control. The regulation covers both flame brightness and heating power. The 3D flame effect does not depend on the heating mode.
Gas fireplace
Like any gas device, it will require a gas supply, which is connected using a flexible pipe, similar to connecting a gas stove.

Unlike the traditional one, it does not require refueling, checking or cleaning. Turn it on using the remote control. The fire imitation is the same as in a traditional fireplace:
- simple management with the ability to schedule work time;
- there is no need to frequently clean the fireplace and glass:
- gives off heat, but will not heat a large area.
The double wall chimney system provides both exhaust gas removal and fresh combustion air supply. A gas fireplace that has the appropriate certificates will ensure its safe use.
What are the advantages of a biofireplace?
Modern ecological fireplaces burn with a live flame, but, like electric fireplaces, they do not need a chimney. Their main advantage is clean combustion to water vapor and carbon dioxide. Bioethanol is poured into a special container and burns without producing ash, unpleasant odors or smoke.

The amount of carbon dioxide released is neutral for health. The amount is similar to that exhaled by an adult. After burning biofuels, no ash remains in the furnace, since bioethanols are burned completely.
Note! Biofuel fireplaces are safe to use. They not only increase the temperature in the room, but also improve air humidity.
They are most often made of steel coated with varnish or paint, resistant to direct exposure to fire and high temperatures. A decorative fireplace can be of an original shape, which is why they are readily used in modern and stylized interiors. Their properties:
- environmentally friendly;
- can be adapted to any interior;
- slight heat, will not heat the whole room;
- the room where the bio-fireplace is used must be regularly ventilated;
- relatively high price of biofuel.
You can choose free-standing biofireplaces. Their heating power is too low, so they are not suitable for complex heating. The high price of biofuel is perhaps the biggest disadvantage of biofireplaces. This interesting solution will allow you to enjoy a cozy fire even in a small apartment.
Fireplace with water jacket
It is used in private homes as an additional source of heat, and as a way to heat domestic water. Its installation is quite expensive, but in the future you can count on relatively economical operation.

Note! Water feeds the heating system. Unlike a conventional fireplace, it has a heat exchanger through which the heat generated during the combustion process is transferred to the heating installation.
The main heat source can be, for example, a condensing gas boiler. The correct operation of the fireplace is monitored by a microprocessor regulator, which controls the circulation pump and maintains the required temperature. This is done by opening or closing the air damper. The heated air flows through the air duct system into other rooms and heats them.
How to choose a fireplace for your home
If the constant heating system fails, the fireplace will be your salvation. How to choose a fireplace stove?
The fireplace can be used in two forms: free-standing or built-in, as a fireplace insert. Regardless of the fuel you burn, you can choose a built-in or free-standing fireplace. The biggest advantage of freestanding ones is quick and easy mobile installation. Such models are useful when the house is already ready and you are planning to install a fireplace in it.

Freestanding fireplaces are available in many sizes and designs, so they can easily fit into any interior design. They usually do not require any major repair work. They are also an original and interesting interior decoration, distinguished by an attractive body.
Traditional open fireplaces can provide a lot of heat, but they cannot evenly heat the entire room, much less every room in the house. The heating efficiency of this type of fireplace is low due to significant heat losses that escape along with the smoke through the chimney.
Modern styles often include semi-circular fireplaces, usually mounted on walls or pillars of the same shape. Marble tiles, traditional red brick, or tile surrounds work well to frame the fireplace wall.
Regardless of which fireplace you choose for your living room, each of them will add comfort and a unique atmosphere on winter evenings. A living room with a fireplace will attract the attention of everyone who comes within its boundaries.
