Cucumber tonic is the perfect cosmetic product
Homemade cucumber cosmetics are a great way to moisturize, regenerate and restore skin radiance. There are many proposals for the preparation of cosmetics with a wide range of applications.
Facial tonic – this cosmetic product is an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic solution containing active substances, such as plant extracts, cosmetic vitamins. The application of tonic is the second main step of skin care and should not be skipped.
Note! The main task of the tonic is to restore the correct, slightly acidic pH of the skin, which is necessary for the proper functioning of the skin’s natural protective barrier. Facial tonic restores the natural pH of our skin, so it cannot be replaced by another cosmetic product.
Thanks to the use of tonic, the skin becomes more resistant to adverse external factors such as UV radiation, bacteria, weather conditions. Washing the skin with tonic can also be used to cleanse the skin of excess sebum, make-up residue and impurities that have accumulated on the surface of the skin during the day.
It is worth preparing tonics for washing the skin of cucumbers. It is better to use them in the morning and in the evening, because they brighten the skin well, reduce discoloration, increase skin elasticity, smooth out fine wrinkles.

Vitamins A and C, lots of sulfur, slimy particles and enzymes are just some of the valuable ingredients in cucumber juice.
Cucumber is 96% water, so it has exceptional moisturizing properties. Soothes and cools the skin, thanks to which it relieves sunburn well. It helps to regenerate and nourish the skin, and at the same time deeply cleanses it.
The juice or pulp of a fresh cucumber soothes swelling, reduces irritation and redness of the skin, and lightens age spots. It can be successfully used by people with sensitive skin, as the cucumber contains practically no irritating substances.
Cucumber homemade cosmetics
How to make cucumber tonic at home? Cucumber tonic is very easy to make. This is one of the simplest cosmetics. To prepare it, you need a large fresh cucumber and a little water.
The cucumber is washed without peeling, crushed on a fine grater. Then squeeze the juice, and pour it into a glass bottle or jar. Dilute it with a little water and the tonic is ready. Store in the refrigerator for several days.
Note! Toner for dry skin should be mild and alcohol-free. Dry skin toner may also contain hyaluronic acid or glycerin.
If the cucumber tonic is for oily skin, add 1 tablespoon of alcohol or 3 tablespoons of vodka.
Boiled cucumber juice tonic for all skin types
A softening and whitening tonic can also be prepared from boiled cucumber juice. Freshly squeezed juice is heated over low heat, not boiling. Collect excess foam during cooking by stirring gently.
When it almost boils, remove from heat and cool. Bottled, closed and stored in the refrigerator for several days. Use for daily washing.
Undiluted tonic is recommended especially for oily skin, for normal, dry and sensitive skin it is diluted with water 1:1.
Cucumber-chamomile tonic for sunburn
Pour boiling water over a handful of fresh chamomile flowers and keep covered for a quarter of an hour. In the meantime, grate a ripe cucumber on a fine grater and squeeze the juice out of it. The cooled two liquids are combined.
Wipe the skin with a moistened cotton pad several times a day. Cucumber-chamomile tonic is especially recommended for washing thin and sensitive skin: it perfectly soothes irritations caused, for example, by the sun’s rays.

Chamomile accelerates skin regeneration and wound healing. Fresh or dried chamomile herb is great for making homemade cosmetics.
Cucumber and Lemon for Skin Lightening
Cucumber tonic with lemon juice gives a very good effect. Cucumber perfectly brightens the skin and neutralizes age spots, and lemon juice, in addition to brightening properties, contains a lot of vitamin C.

To prepare the tonic you will need:
- 1 cucumber;
- ½ lemon juice;
- 0.5 l of water.
Wash cucumber and grate with peel. Strain and add lemon juice and water to cucumber juice. Pour the liquid into a glass bottle and store in the refrigerator.
Additional Information! Cucumber water can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. Use to spray on the face several times a day.
A whitening tonic can be made from the juice of 1 cucumber and ½ tablespoon of aloe pulp.
Homemade cucumber tonic with honey
To prepare an effective cosmetic product you will need:
- cucumber;
- 1 glass of water;
- ½ tablespoon honey.
Thoroughly wash the cucumber and rub on a medium grater. Grated cucumber is poured with boiling water, mixed slightly, and left in a shaded place for 2-3 hours. The mixture is strained into a clean bowl, and ½ tablespoon of liquid honey is added. Stir until the honey is completely combined with the liquid, and then pour into a pre-prepared bottle.
Apply cucumber tonic to the skin every day, at least 2-3 times, leaving until completely absorbed.

Use fresh vegetables and fruits in your skincare. Herbs for tonic can be selected as needed, experimenting with the composition to enhance its effect depending on the needs.
